Not Back to School Blog Hop

I will be participating in a Not Back to School Blog Hop starting on Monday.  This is the first time I've participated in something like this.  It should be fun.  Each week everyone participating will create a post that falls under the theme for that week (curriculum, school room, etc) and there will be a master link of blogs that you can follow to see all the various posts.    There is a button on the right hand side of this blog that you can click on to go to the main blog that is hosting the blog hop.

Come back Monday to see what is here.  If you are a homeschooler, join up!

Living Room - Complete

2 days ago Corey and I rehung the pictures in the living room.  We changed a few of them up, leaving some out (they will go up in a different place) and putting new ones up.  We will be putting more pictures of family up by the front door (underneath the plaque that says Celebrate Family).   So here are a couple pictures to show you how it all turned out.  New floors, new paint on the walls, new ceiling fans and outlets/switches replaced.  Woo!  We are very happy with it.

Now, on to the next room! :-)

MIA and New School Year

I've been MIA for a while.  Sorry about that.  We took a trip due to a family emergency, then had a death in the family, and then many other little things to deal with.  We have managed to get most things settled and life is moving along fairly well right now.

Yesterday was our first official day of schooling for the 2010-2011 school year. We are still in the process of getting all of our new curriculum ordered but we wanted to get the kids started. This year we (ok, we is really ME) are trying to be more organized, so far it is working but we shall see how that goes at the year moves along. Here is what we are planning on doing this year:

All-in-all it was a good day. Alex did great and Morgan did well after a little bit of drama when she discovered we were blocking her favorite websites during schooling time. Both kids have several subjects that will take place on their computers so we wanted to help prevent any issues of playing around on websites and not doing school work.
