Not Back to School Blog Hop - Curriculum Week

Good morning and Happy Monday!  I am participating in a blog hop for the very first time.  This week is Not Back to School Blog Hop: Curriculum Week .  We have almost all of our curriculum for this year, we are expecting the big brown truck to deliver 2 more things (writing books and history activity book) and I want to find some workbooks for geography.  We are supplementing more this year than before, that is always my weakness.

Morgan (7th grade)
Math & Logic: Teaching Textbooks gr 6, Building Thinking Skills Level 3 - Figural, & Mind Benders B1

Language Arts: Writing Skills Book 2, Word Roots A1, & www.spellingcity.com

Science: PLATO online science - Middle School Earth & Space and Physical
History & Geography: SOTW 3 & The History of US and geography workbooks
Languages: ASL - online program

Art & Music & Drama: piano/keyboard - beginner book & online lessons, listening to classical music via cds, participating in shows at MCAG for drama, not sure about art yet.
*Life Skills: volunteering, meal planning & cooking, cleaning, helping take care of babies & younger kids
*Morgan requested this class & these things...she does them already but wants to learn more specific things.

Alex (4th grade)
Math & Logic: Teaching Textbooks gr 5, Building Thinking Skills Level 2, & Mind Benders A1

Language Arts: Writing Skills Book A, Word Roots Beginning, & http://www.spellingcity.com/
Science: Noeo Science - Middle School Physics and  Thames & Kosmos Hydropower kit

History & Geography: SOTW 3 & The History of US and geography workbooks

Languages: ASL online program

Art & Music: piano/keyboard - beginner book & online lessons, listening to classical music via cds, -- not sure about art yet

We are all avid readers and make good use of our library cards & our educator discounts at the bookstores.  We are also becoming regulars at the used bookstore up in Nashville.  We also schedule
several field trips, participate in homeschool days at the Adventure Science Center, and plenty of other
stuff throughout the year.

We don't seperate handwriting as that gets practiced with any writing they do and as long as it is legible I don't worry about it.  We also don't worry about PE as a seperate subject.  Morgan is taking 5 dance classes this year and Alex runs around the house & plays on the trampoline and with the little boy next door.  If he chooses to do a physical activity this year than that will be a bonus.
